[Review] I’M FROM Pear Soothing Pad

I’ve been making my own toner mask packs with thin cotton pads and my best hydrating toners for a while but when I learned I’M FROM had released two new products featuring pear extract as their key ingredient, I was keen to try the new Pear Soothing Pad.

This soothing pad contains 75% of Wild Pear Leaves, which delivers rich hydration with plant-based hyaluronic acid. With the main ingredient of pear called luteolin, it features an immediate cooling and soothing effect on irritated skin. The 2.55-inch size pad will make the skin moist and smooth with an eco pure cotton pad, leaving a light and fresh finish. Recommended for flushed skin and sensitive skin that needs cooling & hydration.

Ingredients: Pyrus Pyrifolia (Pear) Fruit Extract (75%), Water, Butylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Propanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Panthenol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Allantoin, Arbutin

Since Pear Fruit Extract is not a common skincare ingredient, it was a challenging to look up its benefits for skin. There was not much I could dig up and the one source that did seem somewhat helpful here lists it as a skin conditioning and skin protecting ingredient. The Pear Soothing Pad ingredients look more hydrating than they do soothing but this does have claims to soothe skin irritation. I’ll talk about my experience on that a bit further down.

The Pear Soothing Pad comes with a pair of mini tweezers that sit comfortably on a plastic lid cover over the pads. My lid seems to pop up despite my many efforts to snap it into place so I sometimes have trouble screwing the lid back on because of that. The packaging is otherwise one that I’m satisfied with. Each tub contains 60 generously saturated pads and you can either use the toner pads by wiping them over cleansed skin or leaving them on skin for 3 minutes to soothe irritation.

These are probably the most saturated toner pads I’ve ever used. I think the photo speaks for itself. I’m actually very happy that these are heavily saturated because imagine using toner pads that didn’t deliver skin much moisture but I find it a real struggle at times to keep the toner from running down my face. I had to blot repeatedly on one occasion because the toner pad on my forehead was literally leaking.

Overall, I’ve had a really positive experience with these pads. They’re soft on skin, easy to use and I like to leave them on for 5 minutes despite not necessarily needing them to soothe skin irritation. I enjoy the cooling effect the toner pads have on my skin and like how plumping effect they have. I see toner pads as a convenient way of pampering skin with hydration. These can easily be used either in a morning or night routine or anytime you feel like charging skin with moisture. The pads are quite big in size so you can definitely get all your hydration needs with just a single pad. I personally use 3 in a single routine, one pad for my forehead and two for my cheeks.

The Pear Soothing Pad leaves a fresh finish on skin and doesn’t feel oily or sticky on skin once the toner is fully absorbed by skin. While it’s not formulated with fragrance, it does seem to carry a subtle scent of something that I can’t quite figure out. It doesn’t seem to linger long though. I’m currently not experiencing any skin irritation so I can’t tell you if these are indeed soothing but they are extremely hydrating and cooling.

Since I have a good number of toners waiting to be finished at the moment, I will reserve this for when skin could benefit from the soothing effects it has to offer. The downside to these toner pads is that they contribute to a ton of waste and while I do agree, I still think they are convenient for people who want a quick hydration fix or for lazy days.

The good:

  • soft pads
  • rich in hydration
  • incredibly convenient and easy to use
  • vegan friendly
  • cruelty-free
  • formulated without artificial fragrances, artificial colors, ethanol, silicon or essential oils
  • 1 year PAO

The bad:

  • wasteful

It was a hard choice between this and the carrots soaked toner pads but I decided to go with this one because I love pears lol. I’ll try the carrot one from Skinfood later.

I’m curious about the carrot toner pads too! Sadly, I have no room for new products, maybe later once my stash reduces. Hope you enjoy the Pear Soothing Pads! ❤
